PlacerBeast is a product of Just Software LLC. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to Just Software LLC.

What We Collect

When you use PlacerBeast, we collect the following data:

• Google account information — If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this solely for authentication and to identify your account within the app.
• Prompts and map data — When you create a map, your text prompt and the resulting map layout are logged on our server for service improvement.
• Usage metadata — We record which AI model was used, success/failure status, and timestamps. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your identity and associate maps with your account.
• To arrange and deliver your maps via AI-assisted layout.
• To improve AI prompt quality by reviewing generation logs.
• To display your generation history within the app.

Our use of Google user data is limited to the practices described in this privacy policy. We do not use Google user data for any purpose not disclosed here.

How We Store Your Data

• Authentication data is managed by Supabase and stored in their secure infrastructure.
• User profiles (display name, account tier) are stored in a Supabase database.
• Layout logs (prompts, AI responses, metadata) are stored on our server.
• Maps you save to the cloud are stored in a Supabase database linked to your account.

Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth — We use Google Sign-In for authentication. We request only basic scopes: your email, name, and profile picture. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini API — Your prompts are sent to Google's Gemini models to arrange map layouts. Google's Gemini API terms apply.
• Supabase — Handles authentication, user profiles, and cloud map storage. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.

We do not transfer your Google user data to any other third parties, except as necessary to provide the services described above, comply with applicable law, or protect against fraud or abuse.

Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account exists.
• Layout logs are retained indefinitely for quality analysis.
• Saved maps are retained until you delete them or request account deletion.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. Upon request, we will delete your profile, saved maps, and layout logs within 30 days.

Revoking Access

You can revoke PlacerBeast's access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page and removing the app. This will prevent future sign-ins but will not automatically delete data already stored — contact us to request deletion.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to anyone.
• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
• We do not share your prompts or maps with other users (unless you explicitly make a map public).

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — Processing your prompts and delivering map layouts is necessary to provide the Service you requested.
• Consent — When you sign in with Google, you consent to us receiving your name, email, and profile picture for authentication.
• Legitimate interest — We log prompts and layout metadata to improve the quality of the Service. You can object to this processing by contacting us (see below).

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — Request deletion of your data (see Data Deletion above).
• Restriction — Request that we stop processing your data while a concern is resolved.
• Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent at any time by revoking Google access or contacting us.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at placerbeast@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our third-party services (Google and Supabase) operate. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

Google API Services User Data Policy

PlacerBeast's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage for app preferences (tutorial completion, log level settings). These are strictly necessary for the Service to function and do not track you across websites. Authentication sessions are managed by Supabase using their default token storage. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party cookie-based analytics.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
